Earnest Stanberry began playing at an early age. At the age of sixteen, Earnest had the privilege of performing with the late, great international recording artist Jimmy Reed in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida. Earnest performed in all major night clubs traveling throughout the south with constant sellouts in which he was noted for his amazing harmonica playing and natural vocal style, which has made him somewhat of a legend in his hometown of Pensacola.

I WAS BORN IN Minter Alabama (DALLAS County) to Earnest and Ceola Stanberry Sr. in 1938 or 1939, there has always been a unknown factors pertaining to my true age, due to mid wivies doing that time. I had an older sister who was also born in Minter’s Alabama in the early 1930’s. My parents moved to Pensacola, Florida including other family members seeking a better life for themselves and their families. I was told that I was six months old when my parents moved to Florida and lived with family to family while living in town, later my parents purchased some property in Pine Forest north of Nine Mile Road at 3901 North Pine Forest Rd.
